Our nature is complex, but deep inside we are simple creatures, needing the same basic things. Fear, shame and loss are present in everyone’s lives, and they affect us in one way or another. And sometimes they affect us so much, that we get trapped there, in those feelings, in that darkness generated by our inability to process them. And sometimes that’s where we waste our lives.

This collection was born as a selection of macabre and surreal collages and illustrations, created in a unstructured way between 2018 and 2021. The shape of the circle appeared as part of the process of unifying these loose images into a coherent group, and then the connection between them was more evident to me.

Some music was written then from the emotion produced by these images, which were already processed with their circular form and monochromatic palette, and then I released it under the name of my meditative/new age project Sérénité.

Then I felt I should write some short texts to encompass those emotions, and from there emerged 9 short poems that complete the collection.
