Vintage Future (2024)

In the XXth century we wanted to believe in a bright future, with helpful robots in charge of all our boring and mundane tasks.

We got an hyperconnected dystopia where our "smart" devices track our every step and corporations keep us distracted with more useless information than our brains can process, so we don't realize that we no longer have a future. Pretty close.

These colorful metallic signs that get rusty as we look at them, explore the concept of a future that never arrived, a future that became past, a future that wasn't meant to be. What is now brand new, will eventually get destroyed by time, nothing and nobody escapes that fate.

The artwork was inspired by the album "Vintage Future", by my experimental retro/jazzy/lo-fi project Beyond Knowledge, originally released in 2020.
